Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes Paskert, 104 years old, will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Visitation will begin at 9 am Wednesday until service time at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Milford.
Agnes Sophia Paskert, the daughter of Frank and Sophia (Detterman) Krogman, was born July 25, 1912 in Clinton, Iowa. Agnes attended the country school and was baptized, took first communion and was confirmed at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton, Iowa.
On September 13, 1933, Agnes married Lorence Paskert at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. In 1934, they farmed near Remsen, Iowa until 1950 when they moved to Osage, Iowa. After farming in Osage for one year, they returned to Remsen to farm until 1957 when they moved to Lake Park.
After Lorence's death in 1971, Agnes moved to town and began working at Elsie Cafe and providing childcare for families. In 2010, Agnes moved to Spirit Lake to live at Keelson Harbor and in 2015, she moved to the Hawkeye Care Center.
Agnes enjoyed dancing, especially to old time and polka music, sewing, embroidery and knitting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Agnes passed away April 21, 2017 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Spirit Lake at one hundred four years of age.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Paula) Paskert of Thorpe, Wisconsin and Allen (Darlene) Paskert of Lake Park, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lorence; son, Kenneth; daughter, Carol Rolfes; son, Gary Paskert; five brothers and four sisters.
