Alice Miller

A funeral service for Alice Miller, mother of John Miller and Marcy Bosch, will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:30pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 3:00pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Alice Marie Miller, daughter of Geneva and Harry Locey, was born December 27, 1931 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She graduated from Spirit Lake High School and resided in Spirit Lake throughout her life. On July 23, 1951, Alice was united in marriage to Jack Robert Miller in Jackson, Minnesota. Outside the home, she worked as a telephone operator and housekeeper. Alice enjoyed quilting, playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed being a caregiver of everyone's pets and loved being a grandma. She attended all of the grandchildren's events from band concerts to show chorus competitions and dance recitals…never missing one! She loved family get-togethers at grandmas with her sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews! Alice passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at eighty-two years of age. She is survived by her son, John (Lori) Miller and grandsons, Jacob and Jesse; daughter, Marcy (Steve) Bosch and granddaughter, Peyton; three sisters, Elsie Whipkey, Stella Miller and Jackie Pugh and their families; many other cherished family members. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and her parents, Harry and Geneva Locey.
