Arthur Reiser

A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur Reiser, age 88 of Milford, will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the St. Joseph Parish Center on Monday, January 9th after 4:00 pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00 pm. Mr. Reiser died Sat., Jan. 7, 2017 at the Avera Heart Hospital, in Sioux Falls, SD. Arthur Dean Reiser was born April 2, 1928 at Manning, IA. His childhood days were spent on the family farm southwest of Milford. He graduated from the Okoboji Consolidated School in 1946. From 1952 to 1956, he served his county in the United States Marines. On July 1, 1952, Art married Irma Mae Dust. The couple has resided in rural Milford for over 60 years. Art worked at Spencer Foods and enjoyed fishing on the Minnesota River and hunting deer and fox in his spare time. He was an avid snowmobiler and loved snowmobiling in the Black Hills until he turned 85. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Irma; son, Dean, and his wife, Susan, of rural Milford; daughter, Mona and her husband, Mike Barringer, of rural Ocheyedan; grandsons: Joey Reiser and wife Kayla, of Milford and Micah Barringer of rural Ocheyedan; and granddaughter, Madison Barringer, of rural Ocheyedan; relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Franz.
