A funeral service for Bethany Ann Huseman, age 36, of Milford, will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 29th from 5:00-7:00pm at the church. There will be a luncheon at the church following the graveside service at Milford Cemetery. Thursday evening the family will be celebrating the life of Bethany at Captain's Getaway. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bethany's life.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Bethany Ann Huseman, 36, died peacefully at Spencer Hospital on August 25, 2018 after a long battle with angiosarcoma cancer.
Bethany was born on December 30, 1981, in Des Moines, Iowa, to parents Peggy A. Gardner and Roger D. Huseman. Bethany attended Spirit Lake High School and graduated in 2000.
Bethany was a branch manager for Northwest Bank in Milford. She was involved with the Iowa Navy Commodores/Okoboji Chamber of Commerce. Bethany was also an active member of the Dickinson County Relay for Life and looked forward to planning their annual Relay each year. Bethany was a board member of First Lutheran Church in Milford and also served as their Treasurer. Bethany's greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Her daughter Jaelyn was the light of her life and always encouraged Jaelyn to try new things and loved attending all of her many activities.
Bethany will be forever remembered by the love of her life and best friend Travis Jostand, and their precious daughter, Jaelyn, by her parents Peggy Gardner, Roger (Diane) Huseman, and by her brother and sisters, Jamie Huseman, Jeff (Sammi) Huseman, Jennifer (Jason) Hintz, and Lacey (Ben) Oakley. Bethany will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard L. and Joan D. Gardner; her uncle, Greg Nissen; and her cousin, Brett R. Nissen.
