Betty Lou Milberger

October 20, 1930 — March 11, 2024

Betty Lou Milberger, the daughter of Tina Wilhelimina (Salo) and Emil Joseph Plante was born on October 20th, 1930 in Cloquet, Minnesota.  After high school she worked at Diamond Match until marrying Robert D. Milberger on October 3rd 1953.

Betty was a housewife as she and Robert had eight children together.  For fifty years she helped Robert sell Teeney Weeny Donuts going from fair to fair in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Betty always enjoyed talking with the many customers and concession stand owners.

Betty enjoyed the numerous sporting events her children were involved in along with traveling, sewing, reading, watching TV and was always up for a good game of Skip-Bo.

In their later years, Betty and Robert enjoyed traveling from coast to coast in their motorhome and spending their winters in Mesa, Arizona where they met many new friends and spent time with family.

Betty is survived by four sons, Scot (Peggy), Bret (Deb), Todd (Sharon) and Jay (Ruth); two daughters, Pam, and Julie; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother Bruce (Sandy); and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Emil and Tina Plante, her son Mark Milberger, daughter Beth Heide, and grandson Matthew Milberger; three brothers Howard, Kenneth, and Alfred Plante and two sisters Evelyn and Mary Plante.

Funeral services and visitation will be on Friday March 15, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1005 Hill Ave, Spirit Lake, Iowa 51360.  Visitation will begin at 9:30,  Mass 10:30 followed by burial at St. Margarets Cemetery. Following the burial, a lunch will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Center.
