Beverly Jean Dodge, the daughter of Albert and Esther (Sullivan) Mohr, was born in Estherville, Iowa on July 19, 1931. Five sisters and one brother joined Beverly in her family. The Mohr family lived in Wallingford, Iowa, where Beverly attended country school. When Beverly was in the third grade, her family moved to a farmstead a mile south of Terril. She graduated in 1949 from the Terril Community School.
On July 24, 1949, Beverly married Calvin Dodge of Terril. To this union four children were born. Beverly and Calvin lived 68 years in the same house west of Terril where they were engaged in farming.
Beverly was busy on the farm raising a garden, canning produce, growing flowers, cooking and taking lunch to those working in the fields. Beverly was a big fan of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You would see Beverly thoroughly enjoying the events and programs that the children were participants.
Throughout her life, Beverly had a passion for teaching the 3 and 4 year old children in Sunday School at the Terril United Methodist Church. She began teaching Sunday School when in high school and continued for 50 years.
She passed away at the Accura Healthcare of Milford on Friday, September 28, 2108, at the age of 87. Preceding Beverly in death were her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Georgia Mohr; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Albert McBain; and brothers-in-law, Gaylin Johnson and James Mortenson.
Left to cherish Beverly's memory is her husband, Calvin; four children and their spouses, Dixie (Don) Bueltel of Terril, Duane (Alana) Dodge of Terril, Connie (Brian) Goldtrap of Spirit Lake and Sandi (Jeff) Bueltel of Superior; seven grandchildren, Heath (Kelly) Dodge, Darin (Dena) Bueltel, Eric (Kilynn) Bueltel, Brett Goldtrap (fiancé, Emily Ludwig), Megan (Greg) Tusa, Amanda Bueltel (special friend, Jared Smith) and Alison Bueltel; five great-grandchildren, Haley Dodge, Kade Dodge, Keaton Dodge, Maren Bueltel and Barrett Bueltel. She is also survived by five sisters, Mavis Mohr, Glenda (Donald) VonEhwegen, Ethel Johnson, Karen Mortenson and JoAnn (Leon) Stoermer; one brother-in-law, Floyd (Vernita) Dodge, and nieces and nephews.
