Services for Mr. Bill Byers, 88, of Lake Park, Iowa, will be 2 pm, Monday, October 24, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Visitation will begin at 3 pm, Sunday, October 23, 2016, with the family present from 3 - 5 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park, followed by a Masonic Service at 5 pm. Wilfred Lee Byers, the son of Verly (Wunder) and Dale Byers, was born March 1, 1928 in Lake Park, Iowa. He graduated from Lake Park High School. On March 6, 1949, Bill was married to Mary Ann Robinson. Bill worked in feed sales throughout the years and raised his family in Lake Park. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park, Masonic Lodge and served on committees at church including elder and deacon. His priority and love was his family first. He loved attending their activities and was very proud. He adored watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and playing cards as well as meeting and talking with people. Bill passed away October 19, 2016 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-eight years of age. He is survived by his wife, Mary of sixty-seven years; daughters, Dixie Byers and Kristi (Doug) Delaney; son, Todd Byers; brother, Kenneth (Marvel) Byers; granddaughters, Amanda (Kiley) Perkins and Jennifer (Grant) Dau; grandson, Daniel Delaney (friend, Ashley); great-grandsons, Bryce Perkins, Braydan Perkins and Jase Dau; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Verly Byers; brother, Don Byers; sisters, Helen Piper and Evelyn (Lynn) Parsons; sister-in-law, Ruth Byers; brothers-in-law, Arlo Piper and John Parsons; and Willard Byers (twin at birth).
