Bill Chaffin

March 24, 1921 — April 13, 2011

William Edward Chaffin was born March 24, 1921 in rural Milford, Iowa, the son of Glen and Isa (Stinehart) Chaffin. He was educated in the Milford School. During his military service from 1941-1943, he married June England in Tacoma Washington on February 13, 1942. After returning to Milford, they made their home on a farm southwest of Milford where they raised their three children, Joe, Kathy and Don. They moved to Milford in their later years. His primary interest was caring for cattle and farming. He enjoyed the use of horses, starting at a young age, riding his horse to school. As a family, they enjoyed many rodeos and horse related events. Most of all, Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Union Memorial Church in Milford. Bill passed away April 13, 2011 at ninety years of age. He was survived by his son, Don and his wife, Verona, of Milford and their children, Christy (Dave) Hoffman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jason (Brandy) Chaffin of Spencer, Iowa, Jon Chaffin of Milford and Kim Chaffin of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Chaffin of Milford and her children, Jill (Bob) Krebs of Okoboji, Beth (Bryan) McCabe of Milford, Dave Chaffin of Johnston, Iowa and Sarah (Ryan) Lau of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Tyler and Jackson Krebs, Bryson and Brenna McCabe, Cameron and Aiden Chaffin and Rylan Hoffman; sister, June Reiman; other relatives and friends.
