Memorial services for Bonnie Wunder, 89, of Lake Park, will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, May 20, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park. Bonnie Pearl Wunder, the daughter of Marie (Longshore) and Curtis Bundy, was born May 16, 1927 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. In 1939, Bonnie was named the county spelling champion and later graduated from high school. Bonnie was united in marriage to Harvey "Pat" H. Wunder on November 18, 1945 in Arnolds Park, Iowa. Bonnie was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women and Federated Women's Club. She served as a church elder, taught Sunday School, played piano and sung in the church choir. She enjoyed sewing, attending church, gardening, knitting, crocheting, embroidering and setting type at newspapers. Bonnie also worked as a secretary in Spirit Lake at the Farm Bureau Extension Office. She especially loved spending time with her family and being a farm wife. Bonnie passed away May 15, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at eighty-nine years of age. She is survived by her son, Bruce (Sue) Wunder of Sibley, Iowa; son, Gary (Jean) Wunder of Thompson, Iowa; son, Duane Wunder of Deer Lodge, Montana; daughter, Jan (Sam) Snow of Lake Park, Iowa; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Wunder, one brother and two sisters.
