A funeral service for Brian Jones, age 50, of Sioux City, Iowa will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 1:30pm at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 18th after 4:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. There will also be a Celebration of Life Service for Brian at 5 pm, Sunday, November 22, 2015 at New Life Community Church of the Nazarene, 4800 Stone Avenue, Sioux City, Iowa 51106 Brian David Jones, the son of Jack and Sherryl (Raymond) Jones, was born June 30, 1965 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Sioux City, graduating from East High School in 1983. He later graduated from the University of Iowa in 1991. On August 29, 1987, Brian married Ann Osterholt in Sioux City. Brian lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Janesville, Wisconsin and Kingsley, Iowa before returning to Sioux City in 2013. Throughout the years, Brian worked as a computer software consultant. Brian was a member of the New Life Community Church of the Nazarene in Sioux City and served as the vice president of the Siouxland Umpires Association. He enjoyed golf, music, guitar, pool and loved sports. Brian passed away peacefully at his residence after a long struggle with diabetes. He was currently on a transplant list for a heart and kidney. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Sherryl Jones of Wahpeton; brother, Wade (Martha) Jones of Grover, MO; two sons, Dylan of Sergeant Bluff and Evan of Cedar Falls; two nephews, Keaton of St. Louis and Austin (Jillian) of Ankeny; niece, Mackenzie of Des Moines; and many other family and friends.
