Carol Sue Johannes, the beloved daughter of George and Laura (Collier) Henderson, entered this world on June 3, 1959, in Tallahassee, Florida. She peacefully departed on February 1, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carol grew up and attended school in Worthington, Minnesota. On July 24, 1992, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mathew Johannes, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. The couple embarked on a journey together, residing in Belle Fourche and Sibley, before establishing their cherished home in Harris.
Carol dedicated her working career to Forbes Meat and Processing. In her free time, Carol indulged in a multitude of passions that brought color to her days. An avid baker, skilled in arts and crafts, and a lover of nature and camping. She spent time going fishing with her husband, only because he loved it and took pleasure in hosting memorable holiday parties.
Known for her nurturing spirit, Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life. From feeding squirrels to doting on her cat companion, she embraced every moment with a kind heart. Carol's greatest happiness stemmed from spending time with her grandkids, enthusiastically participating in their activities, and sharing coffee moments with her daughter and lunch with the "ladies" who held a special place in her heart.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mathew Johannes; daughter, Sheena (Jason) Brockshus; son, Christopher Kind; five grandchildren: Alexis, Brayden, Ethan, Kennedy, and Chayce; sister, Louise (Galen) Morgan; brother, Bob (Diane) Henderson; several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, George and Laura Henderson; sister, Elsie Rutzen; brother, Charlie Henderson; and brother, Gary Henderson.
