Carol Voss

A funeral service for Carol Voss, 64, of Spirit Lake, will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home. Burial will be at Union State Line Cemetery. Carol Voss, the daughter of Beaulah and Irv Cummings and Ron Powell, was born February 11, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Riverside High School. On June 17, 1978, Carol was united in marriage to William (Lee) Voss in Sioux City, Iowa. Carol lived in Long Beach, California and Sioux City before moving to Spirit Lake in 1989. Carol worked at the Colonial Manor and the Pride Group of Okoboji, where she cared deeply for the people who lived there. She visited them often after her retirement. She also spent as much time as she could with her great-granddaughter who was her pride and joy. Carol passed away on February 1, 2016 at her home in Spirit Lake at sixty-four years of age. She is survived by her husband, William Voss; daughter, Carrie (Kevin) Krieger; granddaughter, Breanna Knutson; great-granddaughter, Nawnie Knutson; sisters, Dawn (Bob) Clark, JoAnn (Martin) Toben and Gayle (Ray) Ryder; brother, Ron (Pat) Powell. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Sterling; sister, Linda Kosiba; mother, Beaulah Cummings; mother-in-law, Virginia Carey; fathers, Irv Cummings and Ron Powell; great-niece, Savanna Juarez-Wilson; sister-in-law, Georgia Voss.
