Funeral services for Cecil Lev, 93, of Lake Park will be held at 11 am, Friday, June 8, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the church.
There will be a private interment at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park.
Cecil C. Lev, the son of William and Ethel (Johnson) Lev, was born August 31, 1924 in Lakefield, Minnesota. He graduated from Lakefield High School in 1942.
On December 19, 1947, Cecil was married to Norma Wunder at the Loon Lake Church. To to this union four children were born: Ron, Sharlene, John and Karen. Cecil farmed near Lakefield until 1957 before moving to Lake Park, Iowa where he farmed until 1979. Cecil worked for Lake Park Poultry Farm and was the city park ranger for five years before his retirement.
Cecil was a member of ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eat Out) and the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, pool and playing cards, especially 500 at dinner date. He also enjoyed watching the Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Lynx and Minnesota Gophers. He especially loved chicken legs and potato salad.
Cecil passed away June 4, 2018 at his home in Lake Park, Iowa at ninety-three years of age.
He is survived by his children, Sharlene Eckard (Russ) of Okoboji, Iowa, John Lev (Rebecca) of Lake Park, Iowa, Karen Hanbury (Paul) of Worthington, Minnesota and daughter-in-law, Denise Lev of Lake Park, Iowa; grandchildren, Neal Houge, Nick Houge (Amy), Shawna Hamm (Jeff), Jacob Lev, Mike Eckard (Jodie) and Adam Eckard (Autumn); great-grandchildren, Caden Houge, Kathryn Houge, Jaxson Eckard, Aspen Eckard, Jayden Eckard, Cece Eckard, Marlie Eckard, Emma Hamm and Gracie Hamm; sisters, Patty Svoboda, Dianne Palmer (Donnie) and Evonne Place; brother, Dick Lev (Donna); along with many nieces nephews, cousins and close friends.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma and son, Ron.
