Charlene Hedquist

A funeral service for Charlene Hedquist, age 82, of Lake Park, will be held Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Charlene Mary Hedquist, the daughter of Chester and Elise (Wulf) Perry, was born May 23, 1936 in Hartley, Iowa. On July 2, 1960, Charlene was united in marriage to Luverne Hedquist in Worthington, Minnesota. The family moved to Lake Park, Iowa where they resided for over fifty years. Charlene worked at the Sioux Valley log cabin, cleaned houses and also worked as a CNA at the Lake Park Care Center. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, word find puzzle books and sitting outside in the summer time in her chair or swing. She had a passion for caring and taking care of people and she loved her time with her granddaughter. Charlene passed away November 22, 2018 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-two years of age. She is survived by her daughters, Lona Hedquist, Laura (Mike) Golish and Sandy Bane Kilgore; sister, Delores (Darrell) Denny; brother, Harland (Sandie) Perry; granddaughter, Brooke Golish; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Elise Perry; husband, Luverne; daughter, Vickie Hedquist; grandson, Andrew Golish; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
