Charles F. Berg was born January 26, 1929 in rural Milford, Iowa the son of John and Margaretha (Schraeder) Berg. He attended the Milford Catholic School.
On January 17, 1955, Charles was united in marriage to Mary C. Burns in Estherville, Iowa. They lived in Milford and Dickens before moving to the farm west of Terril in 1965. Charles was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church as well as the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed fishing, roller skating and collecting and restoring tractors. Most of all, Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and farming the land.
Charles passed away August 27, 2010 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa at eighty-one years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Berg; children, Diane Hunt (Joe), Joanne Stoner (Ronald), Marsha Adolph (Brian), Teresa Gill, Charles J. Berg (Steph) and Joseph Berg; grandchildren, Christine (Hunt) McAnelly, Jennifer Hunt, Alison Stoner, Kyle Stoner, Elizabeth (Adolph) Souer, Katherine (Adolph) Torkelson, Abigail Adolph, Charles Adolph, Thomas Adolph, Blaze Gill, Brennan Gill, Beau Gill, Shane Gill, Jonathon Berg, Trentyn Berg and Alexis Olson Berg; brothers, John Berg, Art Berg and Jim Berg; sisters, Edith Long, Cecelia Janssen and Katherine Putensen; sisters-in-law, Sr. Elizabeth Burns and Dorothy Burns; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Margaret Lenz and James and Flora Burns; many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ethel Berg and Agnes Veirow.
