Chester Thorn

A memorial service for Chester Thorn, age 88, of Lake Park, will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Lake Park. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery. There will be a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Chester Edwin Thorn, the son of Blanche (Hughes) and A.B. Thorn, was born June 12, 1928 in Lake Park. After school, he was enlisted in the United States Army and served during WWII. He was an avid auto and boat enthusiast and loved NASCAR. Chester passed away November 19, 2016 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, Iowa at eighty-eight years of age. He is survived by his children, Dan Thorn, Tim (Julia) Thorn and Regina Thorn; grandchildren, Tyrone, Danny, Jr., Tara and Kori; six great-grandchildren; life partner, Joyce Monier; two brothers, Brad Thorn and Lynn Thorn and one sister, Joyce.
