Clara Marie Tietz

Clara Marie Tietz was born December 22, 1914 to John J. and Alvina M. (Kerstein) Gramenz in Luverne, Iowa. She was raised and went to school in Fenton, Iowa along with her siblings, Harold, Elizabeth, Raymond and Lorraine. She married Raymond Henry Louis Tietz on June 13, 1937. They lived in Fenton until 1946, when they moved to Estherville, Iowa before moving to Spirit Lake in 1952. Clara moved to Coralville, Iowa in March 2002, so she could be close to her daughter and was living in Lantern Park Nursing Home when she passed away at ninety-three from complications due to Alzheimers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray on November 15, 1985; siblings, Harold, Elizabeth and Raymond. She was a fun and loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed very much by all who knew her. Surviving are her three children, JoAnn, of Coralville, Iowa is married to Jim Albert and they have one son, Jordan, who just finished his sophomore year at Iowa State University. Alan lives in Spirit Lake with his wife, Paula, and their son, Matthew, who will be a senior at Spirit Lake High School. Chuck lives with his wife, Debbie, in Omaha, Nebraska and they have a grown son living in the Kansas City area.
