Connie Hartwig

Services for Connie Hartwig, age 70, of Spirit Lake, will be 10:30 am Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin at 6 pm, with the family present from 6-8 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Connie Carol Hartwig, the daughter of Lorene (Shultz) and Don Sawyer, was born August 8, 1944 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Spirit Lake. She was united in marriage to Ronny Hartwig and to this union, three sons were born, Rodney, Rick and Robert. Connie enjoyed riding horses, watching wildlife, motorcycling and boating in the lakes area. She also enjoyed snowmobiling for over twenty years and participated in the women's Lakes Area Bowling group for over thirty years. She loved to watch sports, especially her sons and grandchildren. Connie and Ronny traveled to Wyoming for over forty years. Connie passed away June 9, 2015 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at seventy years of age. She is survived by her husband, Ronny; three sons, Rodney (Autumn), Rick (Phyllis) and Robert; brother, Kelvin (Judy) Sawyer; sister, Donita (Larry D'Abate) Sawyer; five grandchildren, Houston, Inglish, Trevor, Skyler and Shayna; one great-grandchild, Rhett; sister-in-law, Sherry Hartwig Easterlin. Connie was preceded in death by her parents.
