Daniel Bolt

Funeral services for Daniel Bolt will take place Friday, July 31, 2015 at Harbor of Joy Lutheran Church in Milford, Iowa at 1:30 P.M.. Interment will be at Northlawn Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Harbor of Joy Lutheran Church beginning at 12:30 P.M. Mr. Bolt passed away at his home July 27, 2015 at the age of fifty-four.. Daniel Dean Bolt was born July 21, 1961, to Gerald M. and Margie Bolt. He graduated from Arnolds Park High School. Dan had fond memories of his early years of employment. As a lad, he worked as a cook for Steve Pflueger at Mother Nature's Restaurant. During the winter, when Fisherman's Wharf closed, Dan worked at Cycle Country, then back to the Wharf for the summer. Dan loved hunting asparagus each spring. Later, Dan learned the art of a good chef from his mentor, Harold Romig. Dan was a top chef most of his adult life. Dan went into business for himself in south Milford when he ran DANZ Restaurant for a number of years, until his body gave in to diabetes. Dan underwent a limb amputation and thereafter was confined to a wheelchair for the past few years. Dan made his home with his beloved mother, Margie. Dan passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 27, 2015 at his home in Milford at the age of fifty-four. His father and grandparents preceded him in death.
