DayzeeMae Belle Rakotz

A funeral service for 17 month old, DayzeeMae Belle Rakotz, will be held Monday November 2, 2015 at 10:30am at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 1st from 2:00-4:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. DayzeeMae Belle Rakotz, the daughter of Tom and Amber (Hickman) Rakotz, was born May 26, 2014, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was welcomed home by her parents, two brothers and one sister. DayzeeMae loved her family and the close friends of her family. She loved to be tickled, enjoyed being outdoors, playing patty cake and playing with her siblings. On April 17, 2015, DayzeeMae was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. She courageously fought this cancer for over six months before passing away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at her home in Lake Park. DayzeeMae is survived by her parents, Tom and Amber; two brothers, Xainder and Thomas and one sister, Jersey; two puppies, Destiny and Maggie; grandparents, Damon and Kim A. Hickman and Marvin and Donna Rakotz; great-grandparents, Dennis and Pat Menke and Edna Boeckermann; aunts and uncles, Cassie (Dustin) Taylor, Tim (Sam) Rakotz and Tony Rakotz; cousins, Ruthie, Landon and Gabby. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Darwin and Ida Belle Hickman, Anthony Boeckermann and Joseph and Walburga Rakotz. The family would like to thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time.
