Dean Downing

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 1:30pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, February 10th from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Arthur Dean Downing, the son of Nellie Mae Crow and William Downing, was born September 17, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri. On March 4, 1948, Dean was united in marriage to Beverly Downing in Des Moines, Iowa. They lived in Des Moines and Long Beach, California before moving to Milford in 1969. Dean was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and loved to golf. Dean passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-two years of age. He is survived by two sons, Dan Downing and David Downing; daughter-in-law, Dona; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly Joan Downing; daughter, Vicky Joan Downing and son, Jeffrey Lynn Downing.
