Deanna Kelsey

Deanna (Dee) Catherine (Schumacher) Kelsey was born on July 31, 1946 to Albert Henry and LaRue Schumacher in Woodbine, Iowa. She had one older sister, Janet, an older brother, Harlan, a twin brother, Duane and two younger sisters, Darlene and April. Deanna married James Kelsey on September 4, 1964 in Jackson, Minnesota. From this marriage came Kyle Willis and Kirt Lynn. They lived in Milford, Iowa before moving to Montgomery, Iowa in 1967. Deanna and her sister-in-law purchased and ran J & D's Corner bar and café. She worked for Baschke Produce and Berkley's for many years. She loved her daycare that she ran for thirty-two years. Deanna was a member of Lady of the Lakes St. Mary's Catholic Church of Spirit Lake, where she was very active. She enjoyed children, BINGO, car races, cooking and baking. Family and friends were a highlight of her daily life! In 2010, Deanna moved to the Lake Park Care Center where she enjoyed the activities with all the residents. Deanna passed away November 14, 2013 at sixty-seven years of age. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kyle (Robin) Kelsey and their children, Cassie, Calvin, Issabelle and Seth of Nunda, South Dakota and Kirt (Bobbie) Kelsey and their children, Jordan and Austyn of Harris, Iowa; sisters, Janet, Darlene (Ray) and April (Curt); brother, Harlan (Kay) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Duane and James Kelsey.
