Delores Wills

A Celebration of Life for Delores Wills, age 83, of Spirit Lake, will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.  Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Spirit Lake.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Delores Faye (Edmunds) Wills was born December 14, 1939, to Charles and Ruth (Barie) Edmunds in Spencer, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Spirit Lake. She later worked for Berkley for 46 1/2 years where she met her husband, Harland.

They were married on April 9, 1983 in Spirit Lake and they enjoyed forty years of marriage. She loved riding the motorcycle with Harland, playing golf and bowled in league for many years. She also did a lot of crocheting, knitting and plastic canvas.

Harland and Delores wintered in Arizona for eleven years. She loved the block parties they had and Delores had one special lady, she called her special mom. Delores enjoyed going to coffee with her sisters, also iced coffee from McDonalds. She was an American Legion Auxiliary member. If there was a meal planned, she also was there to help any way she could.

Delores passed away July 8, 2023 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at eighty-three years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Edmunds; nephew, Cory Edmunds; two brothers-in-law, Fred Arndt and Wayne Paulsen; in-laws, Beulah and Bob Senn and Hubert and Renae Wills

Delores is survived by her husband, Harland; sisters, Janet Paulsen of Spirit Lake, Joan (Leonard) Browning of Spirit Lake and Edith Arndt of Eden Valley, Minnesota; brother, Frank Edmunds of Spirit Lake; sister, Pamela Edmunds of Spirit Lake; three step-children, Lisa Lyons Jackson of Texas, Angie Wills of Spirit Lake and Brian (Tonja) Wills of Spirit Lake; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Herschel Wills of Ankeny, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Helene Agee of Spirit Lake and Holly (Ralph) Laue of Spirit Lake; sisters, Karen (John) Eastlick of Hayfork, CA and Darlene Neese of Florida; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
