Private graveside services for Mr. Dick Imhoff, 95, of Lake Park and formerly of Okoboji will be held at a later date.
Albert (Dick) Wilber Imhoff, the son of Martena (Keller) and Henry Imhoff,
was born October 27, 1920 in Melvin, Iowa. He attended country school in
Melvin before serving his country in the United States Navy during World War
II in the Aleutian Islands, the South Pacific and in Hawaii.
On October 7, 1960, Albert married Vernette Hein at the Little Brown Church
in Nashua, Iowa. They moved to Melvin, Iowa in 1960 and after retiring in
1984, they moved to Lake Okoboji. Vernette passed away in 2008.
Albert was a well known body and fender man, owning his own businesses in
Melvin and May City. For many years, he continued to work until his mid
80's. He was an avid fisherman, making his own lures and repairing rods and
reels. He also enjoyed camping, gardening and playing cards.
Albert became a resident at the Lake Park Care Center in 2014 where his
family greatly appreciated their wonderful care. Albert passed away
September 29, 2016.
He is survived by his two daughters, Linda and Dan Seivert of Triboji Beach
and Lorna and Joe Schiphoff of Hartley, Iowa; five grandchildren, Shari
Seivert of Redfield, Iowa, Deb (Kevin) Lange of Adel, Iowa, Steve (Shan)
Seivert of Ankeny, Iowa, Michael (Marne) Schiphoff of Sanborn, Iowa and
Angie (Tony) Graves of Waterloo, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vernette; five brothers
and two sisters.
