Funeral services for Mrs. Dorthy Rolling, 72, of Milford will be held Friday, October 17, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Visitation will be after 5:00pm on Thursday, October 16 with a Rosary at 6:45pm followed by a parish vigil at 7:00pm at the Turner Funeral
Home in Milford.
Dorthy Ellen Rolling was born September 20, 1936 in Ceylon, Minnesota, daughter of Henry and Edna (Goerndt) Feddersen. She graduated from the Dolliver High School and was named Valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended one year of college.
She was united in marriage to Patrick Rolling on January 9, 1956 in Armstrong, Iowa. Dorthy lived in Swea City, Armstrong, Estherville and Terril before moving to Milford in 1999. She worked as a librarian at the Terril Library for many years.
Dorthy enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, marigolds, owls and baking cookies. She attended the Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary and Altar Society. She served as a lector and attended many Bible studies.
Dorthy passed on October 13, 2008 at the Milford Care Center in Milford, Iowa at seventy-two years of age.
She is survived by her children, Greg (Gaylene) Rolling of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Kathy (Dave) Determan of Terril, Iowa, Phil (Mary Kay) Rolling of Milford, Iowa and Kenny (Stacey) Rolling of Cold Spring, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Jessi (Nick) Bradley of Terril, Amanda Eickholt of Spirit Lake, Dylan Rolling of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Danny Rolling of Iowa City, Lexy Determan of Terril, Candice Rolling of Spirit Lake, Henry Rolling and Kate Rolling of Cold Spring; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Feddersen; two sisters, Dona Glasnapp and Dixie Lind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Rolling and her parents, Henry and Edna Feddersen.
