A visitation for Doug Ahrenstorff, of Lake Park, will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021, 5:00-7:00 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Lake Park.
Douglas D. Ahrenstorff was born in Worthington, MN on May 5, 1938, to Sig & Lillian Atzen Ahrenstorff. He grew up on the family farm in Sioux Valley. He graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1956. He and Karen Kay Reimers were united in marriage on September 7, 1958 in Lake Park, IA. They made their home in Sioux Valley, where Doug trucked and farmed. Doug and Karen enjoyed 15 years of retirement at their Round Lake cabin, and wintering in Fort Mohave, AZ. Doug’s hobbies included checking on local farming activity, attending auctions, and tinkering with his collection of vintage tractors and lawn mowers.
Doug passed away April 9, 2021, at his home in Lake Park.
Doug is survived by his wife of 62 years, Karen; daughter Jana (Bart) Mueller of Concordia, MO; sons Neal (Cheryl) Ahrenstorff of Lakeville, MN, John (Emily) Ahrenstorff of Sioux Valley, MN, & Kurt (Lisa) Ahrenstorff of Round Lake, MN; and eleven grandchildren, Jill, Sam, Nicole, & Brett Mueller, Haley, Jordan, Lucas, Mason, Zach, Jake, & Kyle Ahrenstorff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, and two brothers, Marlis & Floy Ahrenstorff.
