A visitation for Douglas Eliasson will be held Tuesday, July 22nd from noon-2:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery. DOUGLAS ELIASSON, 70, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Spencer, Iowa, Doug retired from Navistar in 2011 after 48 years of service. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served on the board of the National Auto & Truck Museum "NATMUS" in Auburn, and enjoyed being a troop leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Doug loved vintage cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, John Deere and Case tractors. Doug enjoyed collecting hats, t-shirts, models, and home remodeling. "He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren." Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Mary Eliasson of Fort Wayne; mother, Harriet Eliasson of Spencer, Iowa; children, Brian Eliasson of Phoenix, Ariz., Janelle Eliasson Nannini of Bowling Green, Ohio and Julie (Mark) Henrie of South Jordan, Utah; grandchildren, Madi, James Douglas, Stephen, and Michael; sisters, Geraldine (Henry) Jurgens of Kearney, Neb., Loretta (Ed) Joyce of Las Vegas, Nev., Roberta Schurring of Wheeling, Ill., and Jeanette Gehrt of Spencer, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, Robert Eliasson; and foster son, Michael Williams. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5401 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Bishop Adam Gregory officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Milford Cemetery, Milford, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Missionary Fund, Boy Scouts of America, or National Auto & Truck Museum "NATMUS."
