Douglas Orwig

Memorial services for Douglas Orwig, 43, of Casper, Wyoming and formerly of Lake Park, will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church in Lake Park. Douglas Lee Orwig, the son of Elwin and Florence Orwig, was born July 5, 1973 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was raised in Lake Park and graduated from Harris Lake Park High School. Douglas enjoyed farming. He helped some of the neighbors get their field work done. He loved to watch football, the Iowa State Cyclones and watching NASCAR races (Chad Little was his favorite). He collected small John Deere tractors and enjoyed country music, especially George Strait. His favorite pastime was being with his family telling stories. Holidays were a special time for the family. He was very knowledgeable on numerous subjects. You could ask most anything and he could answer your question. He had a great sense of humor, was fun to be around and he loved people. Douglas passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016 at his home in Casper, following a bout with cancer. He is survived by his parents, Elwin and Florence Orwig; brother, Gregory; sister, Morgan; and son, Austin, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Please dress casual to the memorial service.
