Earl was born on June 2, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Harold and Vera (Horton) McBride. Earl was raised in the Fort Dodge, Iowa area and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1967.

On November 14, 1969, Earl married the girl of his dreams, Cheryl Ann Bellcock, at St Mary’s Catholic Church of Sac City, Iowa. Earl and Cheryl shared many experiences and joys during their 54 years together. They were blessed with three children: daughters, Kim, Joy and Faith; then blessed with son-in-law’s Aaron, Michael and Joe; blessed once again with 7 grandchildren, Iris, Clayton, Charlie, Gavin, Madigan, Ellen and Sofia.

Earl proudly served his country, enlisting in the United States Army on November 28, 1967, and was honorably discharged from active duty on April 13, 1968. He was an expert marksman.

Earl was a successful salesman and manager for K-Products, Inc. retiring after 35 years.

Earl was dedicated and devoted to his faith and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

A dedicated golfer, he enjoyed countless rounds at Emerald Hills Golf Club, often sharing laughter and camaraderie with friends. Earl was an outdoor enthusiast who loved hunting and fishing, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Earl derived much enjoyment from watching sports. He took in golf tournaments, baseball games and college football games. He enjoyed the friendly rivalry between The Iowa Hawkeyes and The ISU Cyclones. Never choosing sides, claiming that he supported both schools with tuition payments.

Upon retiring in 2015, Earl took great joy in his days with Cheryl at their home on the green at Emerald Hills Golf Course and in Port Richey, Florida. He indulged his golf habit, enjoyed coffee with his men’s group at the clubhouse and socializing with friends. Earl continued to stay in touch with his old friends and, like always, made plenty of new ones. Earl Francis McBride passed away on September 19, 2024, embraced in the loving comfort of his family. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his daughters Kim (Aaron) Peimann of Fort Dodge, Joy (Michael) Kanne of Austin, Minnesota, and Faith (Joe) Leng of Primghar, Iowa; his beloved grandchildren: Iris and Madigan Peimann, Charles and Ellen Kanne; Clayton, Gavin, and Sofia Leng. He also leaves behind his siblings: Shirley (Bill) Crouse of Rockwell City, Iowa; Curt (Linda) McBride of Coralville, Iowa; Terry McBride of Port Richey, Florida; Diana (George) Brehm of Fort Dodge, Iowa as well as extended family and friends.
