Services for Edna Reynolds, 97, of Milford, Iowa will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at First English Lutheran Church in Spencer, Iowa. Interment will be at Northlawn Cemetery in Spencer, Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Reynolds passed away December 22, 2015 at St. Luke Home in Spencer, Iowa. Edna, the daughter of Ann (Pohl) and Will Bendlin, was born in Manson, Iowa, on August 13, 1918. She was baptized and confirmed a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, later known as First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. She attended school in Langdon and Spencer. On December 27, 1941, Edna was united in marriage to Martin L. Reynolds in South Sioux City, Nebraska. They began farming west of Milford and in 1947, moved east of Milford where they resided for nearly fifty years until Edna moved to Heritage Landing in Milford in 2002. Her final eight years were spent under the care of the St. Luke's Lutheran Home, Spencer, Iowa. Edna worked at several retail jobs, and also helped in the farming operation. She loved yard work, vegetable gardening and especially growing flowers. She also enjoy traveling and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Edna passed away peacefully on December 22, 2015, in St. Luke's Lutheran Home, Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin, in 1998; brothers, Virgil and Donald Bendlin; sisters, Bernice Bower, Audrey Gillum, and Joyce Bendlin; and an infant son, Mark Douglas. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl (Cheri) and husband, Jack Eichman, of Milford, Iowa; one grandson, Brent (Heidi ) Eichman of Roseburg, Oregon; two granddaughters, Jacqueline (Bernard) Connolly of Iowa City, Iowa, and Karess (Cory) Knudtson of Milford, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Samantha and Mackenzie Eichman; Lucas Hoover, Rory and Norah Connolly; Liam and Aubry Knudtson; three sisters, Shirley Brinkley, Lorraine Pullen, and Madalyn Adams; sister-in-law, Loretta Bendlin; and two brothers, Ron Bendlin and Marvin Bendlin; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
