Eileen Margene (Swartz) Blunt was born on a farm west of Terril on August 1, 1933. Eileen was always told she came out of a threshing machine when she was born because her father was harvesting oats that day. Eileen was the 3rd daughter of Walter Franklin & Fern (Wood) Swartz growing up on farms near Terril and Lakefield, MN. She received her early education in Terril and graduated from Lakefield in 1951.
On December 23, 1951 Eileen married Dale Blunt at the Terril Methodist Church. To this union 3 daughters were born. Eileen and Dale lived most of their lives in Terril with the exception of 3 years in Gnadenhutten, Ohio to live near Eileen's sister, Beth, in the late 1950's. When they returned to Terril, Eileen began working at Berkley's in Spirit Lake where she dedicated 33 years of service in the molding and braided rope departments before retiring in 1994. After retiring Eileen's greatest joys were spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities. She also loved walking in the outdoors enjoying visits with friends and neighbors along the way.
Eileen passed away February 5, 2014 at the Ruthven Care Center in Ruthven, Iowa at eighty years of age.
