Eileen Doris De Voll was born on March 11, 1928 in Bath England. She came to the United States in 1948 and lived in Minnesota where she met and married Carroll De Voll. The couple lived in Madelia, MN until 1952 when they moved to Spirit Lake.
After Carroll's death in 1975 Eileen met and married Fred Winebrinner. They resided in Newell and Spirit Lake. Fred passed away in 1983.
Eileen worked many years as a nurse at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and Milford Nursing Center. She was a member of the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church, the Rebekahs and the American Legion Auxiliary. She passed away Sept. 11, 2009 at Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake.
She is survived by daughters, Jacquelyn (Bill) Carpenter of Okoboji and Karen De Voll of Spirit Lake; son, Bradley De Voll of Estherville. Her family grew with 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Eileen enjoyed watching them grow. Surviving are sisters, Ann Angell of Spirit Lake, Bette Bridle and Doreen Billect, both of Bath, England.
Although Eileen lived in several towns, she always felt most at home in the Lakes Area. This is where she found the joy of being surrounded by family, longtime friends and the beauty of nature.
