Ed had three grown children. She has one daughter, Rosemary Shaughnessy, and four grandsons: Jeremy, Daniel, Timothy and Nathan Shaughnessy as well as seven great grandkids. She loved sewing, crocheting, ceramics and painting. At one time she was affectionately known as "The Teddy Bear Lady." She also enjoyed cooking and baking, specializing in chicken soup. She appreciated going to the pool at the Spencer Family YMCA where the water thoroughly helped with her polio and other ailments. In the 1990s she started the post-polio survivors group in the Spencer area and helped many with this condition at that time. She was fiercely patriotic and loved her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She knew He is the way the truth and the light. Left to cherish her memories are: Patrick and Rosemary Shaughnessy, of Greenville, Iowa; Jeremy and Kristin Shaughnessy and their children Grace, Kellan and Taylor, of Fountain, Colorado; Daniel and Jenna Shaughnessy and their children Lexi, Regan, Boston and Maddy, of Spencer; Timothy Shaughnessy and Robin Jerousek and her children Kam, Kirstyn and Kendra, of Spencer; and Nathan Shaughnessy, of Spencer.
