Ethel Irene Johnson was born July 9, 1937, to Albert and Esther (Sullivan) Mohr in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Milford, Iowa at eighty-six years of age.

Ethel graduated from Terril Community School in 1955. On July 9, 1966, she married Gaylin Derold Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together, they made their home on a farm northwest of Terril until 2009, when they moved to Homestead in Spirit Lake.

Ethel was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Terril. She enjoyed canning, gardening and baking. She also loved to travel, play cards with friends and family, watch NBA games and game shows. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Darwin Anderson; her second husband, Gaylin Johnson; daughter Alberta Nelson; son in-law Dale Nelson, brother, Arthur Mohr; sister, Beverly Dodge; brothers-in-law, Ron Johnson, James Mortenson and Calvin Dodge; and her grandson, Tait.
