Evelyn June Walker Wiese was born June 23, 1924 to Charles and Ethel Walker in Lake Park, Iowa.
On January 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Alvin Wiese. They farmed for forty-three years before moving to Lake Park in 1975 where they bought a home on Silver Lake.
Evelyn loved her family, her flowers, her life on the lake, her friends at dinner date, playing cards and the dog, Chloe. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies. She also crocheted mittens for Upper Des Moines.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Legion Auxiliary, the cemetery society and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Park. Evelyn was a lifelong member of the Church and received an award for 64 years of membership last January.
Evelyn passed away December 27, 2010 at the Hartley Community Memorial Health Center after suffering a stroke.
Left to mourn her loss are her children, son, Wayne, and his wife, Terry, of Lake Park, daughter, Elaine Dagel and her husband, Dennis, of Hartley and son, Merle and his wife, Jan, of Lake Park; grandchildren, Paul Dagel and his wife, Stacey, of Sanborn, Bruce Dagel and his wife, Leah, of Cherokee, Randy Wiese and his wife, Ann, of Lake Park, Russell Wiese and his friend, Jaime, of Spencer, Roger Wiese of Chicago and Jim Davis; Kelly Davis and Lauren Davis of Arizona; four great-grandsons, Brock Dagel, Stetson Dagel, Matthew Dagel and Luke Dagel; two great-granddaughters, Olivia Dagel and Paige Dagel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin, her parents, one sister and one daughter-in-law, Kim Wiese.
