Frances Jean Carlson was born November 15, 1929 in Peterson, Iowa, the daughter of John and Agnes Mueller. She was raised in Peterson, graduating from Peterson High School.
Frances was united in marriage to Eldon Carlson of Marathon, Iowa, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in rural Marathon, where they farmed and raised their family. Upon retirement in 1989, the couple moved to Spirit Lake.
Frances was a member of First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family at Holidays. She also enjoyed traveling south in the winters, as well as golfing. Her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren were a source of great joy and pride.
Frances passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at 81 years of age.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Eldon of Spirit Lake; sons, Larry Carlson of DePere, Wisconsin, Bob Carlson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and John Carlson of Lee's Summit, Missouri; grandchildren, Adam and Nick Carlson, Michelle and Julia Carlson, and Wendy, Wade and Weston Carlson; great-grandchildren,Cooper Carlson (son of Adam), Alex and Logan, (sons of Wendy Krupke), Cali, Lydia and Brody Carlson (children of Weston Carlson), and Ella and Zoey Frances Carlson, (daughters of Wade Carlson); other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Mueller, brothers, Rob, Jack and Don Mueller, and her sisters, Virginia Mueller and Helen Simon.
