A funeral service for Gail Moritz, age 62, of Spirit Lake will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:30am at the Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8th after 4:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
Gail Alan Moritz, the son of Bernice (Olson) and Ivan Moritz, was born February 7, 1953 in Spencer, Iowa. On May 18, 1994, Gail was united in marriage to Linda (Schoelerman) Moritz in Spirit Lake.
Gail loved animals and loved to hunt. He enjoyed watching the birdfeeders to see what birds came to dine with us and loved watching for the turkeys come running down the hill. Gail enjoyed and was very good at constructing things in the home. He also liked to go for a ride on nice summer days in his black corvette with the top down.
Gail passed away October 2, 2015 at his home in Spirit Lake at sixty-two years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Moritz of Spirit Lake; children, Jason (Tonia) Moritz of Terril, Brent (Brenda) Moritz of Jackson, Minnesota; Brad (Melissa) Moritz of Spirit Lake, Brian (Kathy) Moritz of Rochester, Minnesota, Dawn (Pete) Hagedorn of Dickens, Iowa and Jenn (Todd) Dykstra of Hartley, Iowa; twenty-nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Bonnie Schoelerman; sister-in-law, Lori (Alan) Erichson and brother-in-law, Roger (Lynn) Schoelerman; nieces, nephews and several other family members and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Fred Schoelerman; and one grandson, Bryson.
