A funeral service will be held Monday, January 20th at 11:00am at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 19th from 4:00-6:00pm at First Lutheran Church.
Glenn Allen Savage, the son of Ida (Brend) and Glenn Savage, was born November 11, 1929, near Minot, ND. He graduated from Marysville, WA, High School; Pacific Lutheran College; and completed his education at Augustana Theological Seminary in Rock Island, IL.
On August 20, 1955, Glenn was united in marriage to Clara Cunningham in Des Moines, IA. As a pastor, Glenn served in many churches including Bethlehem Lutheran in Elbow Lake and Barrett, MN, St. John's Lutheran in Killdeer, ND, Dalesburg Lutheran in Hub City, SD and Our Saviour's Lutheran in Sebeka, MN. After Glenn served at Lutheran Lakeside Bible Camp of Spirit Lake from 1979 to 1985, Glenn and Clara moved to Milford in 1986. After retirement, Glenn served as short-term interim pastor in several area churches. Glenn was owner of Creative Marble and manufactured sinks and showers from 1985 to the present.
Glenn was a member of the First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He was always willing to help others and enjoyed visiting with people who were homebound. He was involved in the Habitat for Humanity and the Clean Well Project.
Glenn passed away January 15, 2014, in Sioux Falls, SD, at eighty-four years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; children, Laurian (Rody) Pederson, Paul (Marcy) Savage and Tim Savage; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Everett (Ardyth) Savage of Lynnwood, WA; brother-in-law, Jack Bratlie of Tacoma, WA; sister-in-law, Aloha Savage; sister, Shirley Savage of Des Moines, WA; brother, Dave (Bobbie) Savage of Key Biscayne, FL; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Anna (Larsen) Savage; sister, Marion Bratlie; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Cyrene Savage; and brother-in-law, Bob Cunningham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Well Project at First Lutheran, Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choice.
