Gloria Perdun

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 31st at 10:30am at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30th at 3:00pm with the family present from 3:00-5:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Gloria Mae Perdun was born May 3, 1937, the daughter of Melinda and Harley Hanks of Kane Illinois. She married Charles Lewis Perdun on September 21, 1957 at the Baptist Church in Mauston, Wisconsin. Gloria graduated high school from Jersey Community High School in 1955. She then graduated from Gradwohl College in St. Louis, Missouri where she received her degree as a lab technician. She worked as an x-ray and lab technician in Mauston Hospital and Dr. Hess' Clinic. Gloria also attended Robert Morris College where she received an honor award in Arts & Science. She completed her education at Iowa Lakes Community College where she majored in Arts & Science in 2005. Gloria enjoyed reading, going to school but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Gloria passed away March 25, 2014 at her home in Spirit Lake at seventy-six years of age. Gloria was survived by family that will always cherish memories of her. Survivors include her sister, Anna Marie Voiles and her husband, William; son, Michael Perdun and his wife, Sandy; son, Keith Perdun and his wife, Teresa; son, Greg Perdun and his wife, Eve; daughter, Bridget Cookson and her husband, Thomas; daughter, Melissa Miller. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great granddaughters on the way. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce Welsh and great-granddaughter, Brianna VanPelt.
