Gordon S. MacRunnels

Gordon S. MacRunnels was born to Ralph and Dollie (Waycoff) Mac Runnels on September 27, 1926 in Excelsior Township, south of Lake Park. As a young child, he moved to Spirit Lake with his parents. He attended the Spirit Lake Community School. He was a life long resident of Spirit Lake and worked for many years as a handyman doing building and repairs for people in the lakes area. Gordon was a resident for many years at Oakhaven Care Center until his health forced him to go the Lake Park Care Center. He enjoyed fishing in the lakes, especially for bullheads. Gordon was known as "Little Mac" by many who knew him. Gordon died Saturday February 21 at the Lake Park Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, LuVerne (Mac) Mac Runnels, sister, Melba Schoning and niece and nephew, Nancy and Ralph Scholten in 2005. Surviving is his sister, Eleanor Mason of Los Angeles, CA and sister-in-law, Darlene Mac Runnels of Spirit Lake.
