Harold Henry Campney was born December 3, 1920 in Plover, Iowa, the son of Oliver and Mabel (Thompson) Campney. Harold enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in Cannon Company, 12th Infantry, during WWII and was discharged on October 12, 1945. He was united in marriage to Opal Fern Sabin on July 5, 1942 in Algona, Iowa.
Harold lived in Burt, Iowa Falls and Sheffield before moving to Arnolds Park, Iowa in 1963. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and watching the CUBS play baseball. He was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church in Arnolds Park and the VFW.
Harold passed away December 27, 2010 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at ninety years of age.
He is survived by his son, Dwaine Campney and his wife, Karen, of Harvard, Illinois, daughter, Dianne Carney and her husband, Jim, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Dawn (Bill) Bolhois, Michelle (Ray) Stevens, Jason Carney (Jantina), Erin Carney and Sara Carney; great-grandchildren, Gregory Bolhois, Robert Bolhois, James Jenkins, Tyler Solsma, Max Carney and Elli Carney; many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, parents and siblings.
