Howard Lewis Titterington was born May 28, 1927 to Vernon and Coila (Jeppeson) Titterington at the home of his grandparents, Dan and Effie Jeppeson. He graduated from Milford Public School in May, 1945. Howard then continued his education at Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa.
Howard and Roseana (Johnson) were married at Little Sioux Lutheran Church, rural Milford, on June 22, 1948. This union was blessed with their three children, Steven, Sheryl, and Tim.
Howard enjoyed serving the community including being a 4-H leader, serving in the church, being a dedicated bus driver for the Milford/Okoboji schools. He also served Dickinson County as a leader in different capacities including the original Dickinson County Landfill, Dickinson County Council of Government, and serving as Mayor of West Okoboji for many years. Most of all, Howard loved being known as a Farmer and took great pride in being a salesman for Pioneer Seed.
Howard passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at his home at 85 years of age.
Left to cherish the memory of Howard are his wife, Roseana; children, Steven (Diane), Sheryl (Mike) Thu, Tim (Rhonda); ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Marcia Whitney; other relatives; and friends whose lives Howard has touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A scholarship fund has been established in memory of Howard.
