Ina Anderson

June 11, 1910 — July 26, 2011

Ina Eva Lisa Mary Carlson Anderson was born June 11, 1910 to Gus and Barbara Carlson on their homestead near Williston , ND. Gus was a tailor and Barbara was his faithful partner. They moved to Williston so Ina could attend school there. She graduated from Williston High School in l929. She then attended Minot State Teacher's College in Minot, ND and the University of Montana at Missoula, MT. She taught in several country schools, staying in the homes of her students. She married Mervin Anderson on June 11 (her birthday) l937. They first farmed in Divide County, ND. Later Merv would own a lumberyard before returning to farming near Trenton, ND. After retiring they moved to Milford in l973 to be near their daughter Bonnie Neisess and family. It would be a blessed experience for both families. Merv helped at Treasure Village and Ina helped with her grandchildren. They both enjoyed mini golf. They also helped provide housing for staff at Treasure Village and looked forward to meeting the young people each year. It was a mutual friendship, especially as Ina supplied "goodies" for her "kids". Ina and Merv were active in First Baptist Church in Williston, ND and also at Milford Baptist Church for many years. Ina taught Sunday School to toddlers for some years and always was helping in some area. More recently she became a member at Good News Community Church. A model of prayer and biblical study, her gentle spirit won her many friends throughout her life. Ina enjoyed traveling with Merv, especially with his extended family. As an only child, she loved the Anderson family who accepted her as their own. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an artist at heart. She painted pictures in her early years then use her artistry in sewing and scrapbooks. She was the Anderson family historian. She also enjoyed walking, reading, playing scrabble and other games. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and made Him her Savior as a young adult. She delighted in the Bible Study groups she belonged to over the years. She enjoyed Sunday School classes and Christian Women Club luncheons and studies. Ina and Merv faithfully read the scriptures and prayed together each morning. They practiced their faith in many ways and left a Godly heritage for their family. Surviving are their one daughter, Bonnie, and husband, Garth Neisess. Also three grandchildren: Deborah (Dennis) Clark, Laura and Rachel, of Milford, Jan (Robert) Lucas of Kansas City, Linnea (Gary) Lambert, Carter and Maddie of Milford. Ina has joined Merv, her husband of 57 years, for a grand Reunion in heaven along with many friends and family.
