James (Jim) Everett Kelsey was born on February 4, 1940 to Frank and Glee Kelsey in Spencer, Iowa. He had four half brothers, Charles, Francis, Clair and Paul Anderson.
Jim married Deanna Schumacher on September 4, 1964 in Jackson, Minnesota. From this marriage came Kyle Willis and Kirt Lynn. They lived in Milford, Iowa before moving to Montgomery, Iowa in 1967.
Jim worked for Rex Bever until he purchased his own backhoe and trucks and started his own business. In his spare time he scraped iron and hauled water around the Lakes area. He drove for Chopper's Taxi Service for two years before starting his own taxi service in 2009.
His love for car races even had him owning his own stock car for many years. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards.
Jim passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at his home in Montgomery, at seventy-three years of age.
Left to cherish his memory are Deanna Kelsey and their sons, Kyle (Robin) and their children, Cassie, Calvin, Izabelle and Seth, of Nunda, South Dakota and Kirt (Bobbie) and their children, Jordan and Austyn, of Harris, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and friends.
