Jane was born January 2, 1929 to F.S. and Eunice (Boland) Snyder in Lawrence, Kansas. As a young girl, she and her younger sister, Lois, lived in Prairie View, later moving around nothwest Kansas and settling in Almena where she graduated from high school in 1947. She attended Hays State College majoring in music, and after graduation in 1951 taught school for five years.
She married Clarence on December 27, 1955 and lived in Grinnell, Kansas but the couple eventually moved back to Jane's hometown of Almena. They had four children. After several years the family moved to David City, Nebraska, then to the Iowa City area before settling in Spirit Lake in 1970.
Jane enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family and playing her beloved piano. She taught piano lessons as well and continued to play until she was no longer physically able to. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in later life. She also enjoyed family "get-togethers" and church activities.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Clarence; her children, Christine (Greg) Thompson of Spirit Lake, John (Brenda) Call of Luverne, Minnesota and David (Donna) Call of Spencer; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dean) Aakhus, Lisa (Micah) Feser, Amber (Brad) Cooke, Ashley Call and Anna Coffin; great-grandchildren, Tiana Murray, Jameson Feser, Madison and Nora Aakhus, Julianne, Jada, Jennalee and Jacilynn Cooke; her sister, Lois of Albuquerque, New Mexico and many beloved nieces and nephews.
