A memorial service for Janet Turner, of Milford, will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake.
Janet Laureen Turner, the daughter of Dorothy (Fear) and Ernest Kennett, was born August 26, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was a twin and they were the oldest of nine children. She was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1959.
The funeral home business brought her to the Lakes area in 1970. In 1982, Janet made the decision to move to Colorado. She pursued her career as a specialist in accounting for over thirty years. In April of 2017, Janet returned to the place she loved most - the Iowa Great Lakes - and was happy to be near her close friends once again. She loved playing cards, gardening, crocheting and knitting.
Janet passed away October 20, 2017 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at seventy-six years of age.
Janet is survived by her mother, Dorothy Kennett; son, Philip Turner; daughter, Lynnette Turner Steele; granddaughter, Brianne Redfern; grandson, Jordan Turner; great-granddaughter, Chelsea Dorsey; eight siblings and their families.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Kennett.
