Jeanine Kaye Buchman was born on June 9, 1932 in rural Alton, IA to William and Ollie (Starkenberg) Brower, the second of six children. She graduated from Sibley, IA High School in 1950.
On October 21, 1951 she was married to Vernon E. Buchman at the Methodist Church in Sibley, IA. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnolds Park, but regularly attended First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Jean was active in her church, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a long-time volunteer at Lakes Regional Healthcare. She and Vern delivered Meals on Wheels for over 35 years.
She is survived by her husband Vern of Spirit Lake; son Jeff (JuLee) of Sioux City, IA and their children Meredeth and Grant; son Randy of Lake Park, IA and his daughter Kristianna; daughter Kris Goetsch of Spirit Lake and her sons Tanner, Travis and Tyler; sister Norma Buchholtz of Sibley, IA; brother Robert (Kay) Brower of Minnetonka, MN; sister Sandi (Chuck) Zehnder of Branson, MO; sisters-in-law Shirley Brower of Worthington, MN, Mary Brower of Columbus, OH and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Lisa; brothers William Brower and Gerald Brower and brother-in-law Al Buchholtz.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Iowa Hospice for the loving care they provided to Jean in her last days.
