Jean LaVonne Croft, the daughter of Ruth Esther Irene (Bozzel) and Melvin Wilber Andrews, was born November 3, 1921 in Pomeroy, Iowa. After graduation from Manson High School, Jean attended business school in Des Moines.
On August 14, 1949, Jean was married to Duane Lee Croft in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The family lived in Fort Dodge until moving to Okoboji in 1980 where they were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake.
Jean had a deep faith in the Lord. Many times, she would be seen reading her Bible at night before bed. She loved the Lord and her family and they were always her priorities. She was especially proud of her children, David, Donna and Dan, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family. She was proud of each and everyone and was always willing to open her door and welcome them in. Jean had a special mission of watching over and taking care of her son, David. She did so with faith and perseverance and never wavered. She was always there for her family to lean on and give advice. She was loved by so many for her generous heart and her kindness and will be missed by all who loved her and knew her, especially her children and grandchildren.
Jean passed away August 5, 2020 at Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake at ninety-eight years of age.
She is survived by her son, David Croft of Spirit Lake, Iowa; daughter, Donna Grady of Lake Park, Iowa and son, Dan Croft of Milford, Iowa; grandchildren, Chad, Lisa, Tony, Chase and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Abby, Emily, Hazel and Amelia.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Duane L. Croft; her parents, Melvin and Ruth Andrews; brother, Robert Andrews and sister, Arlys Egli.
