Jerilyn Lowry

A memorial service for Jerilyn (Jeri) Lowry, 76, of Spirit Lake will be held at 11 am, Friday, December 28, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2018, with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park. Jerilyn Marganne Lowry, the daughter of Jerome and Evelyn (Ahrenstorff) Hemmingson, was born February 24, 1942 in Lake Park, Iowa. Jeri graduated from Lake Park High School in 1960 and continued her education at the Omaha Business School. Jeri was married to Robert Lowry and the couple had two children, Dawn and Robert Jr.. Jeri lived most of her life in Spirit Lake where she sold Avon for many years, worked at Mc Quay's (Crystal Tips) and later retired from Pure Fishing in 2007. She loved sports and was an avid Vikings and Hawkeye fan. Jeri attended all high school sports and as her health failed, listened faithfully on the radio. Her pride and joy was watching her grandkids activities and her great-granddaughters. She loved having lunch every Thursday with her friends, attending the Summer Theatre and enjoyed going out to eat. Jeri passed away December 13, 2018 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at seventy-six years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Bice and her husband, Kevin, of Spirit Lake; son, Robert Lowry Jr. and his fiancé, Heather, of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Amber Lippon and her husband, Matt, of Milford and their daughters, Ava, Elle and Eden; grandson, Tyler Bice of West Des Moines; sisters, Roxanne Lammers of Maple Grove and Denise Lev of Lake Park; nieces, nephews and many cousins. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Evelyn Hemmingson and brother-in-law, Ron Lev.
