Jerry David Lunsford

There will be no formal services for Jerry Lunsford, age 77, of Milford. Memorials may be directed to Peru State College. Dr. Jerry David Lunsford of Milford, Iowa, passed away on July 27, 2016, with his loving family present. Jerry David Lunsford, the son of Matilda (Mackey) and James Lunsford, was born November 26, 1938 in Falls City, Nebraska. He was a past president of OEA and enjoyed a thirty-two year teaching career. His greatest accomplishment was hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Main in 1997. He was married to Charlotte Anne Wheeler on September 21, 1963 at Falls City, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Matilda Lunsford; two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Charlotte (Wheeler); son, Judd David (Erin) and daughter, Anne Charlotte (Chris Parr); grandchildren, Taylor and Riley Staab, Elle and Evie Lunsford; sisters, Ann Owen of Denver, Beverly Seid of Falls City and Sally Palmer of Falls City.
